marketCard - softGaya IT Development Excellence

The marketCard project was created by softGaya with the intention to provide the Hyper brand a better perception of its retail market as well to know its clients and respective preferences in products, stores, frequency of purchase and the correlation between age, geographical area and area of activity besides other customizable parameters. The main objective is to support a top executive with the means to take a decision and the promotion of new products to his clients using a Business Intelligence (BI) algorithm.

 

Introduction

The marketCard project was developed within the discipline of Decision Support Systems (DSS). Hyper a fictitious company in the UK retail market requested softGaya the creation of an application that allows to manage and meet their clients and assist in sending promotions and new products to potential bidders.

The softGaya company is a prestigious brand in software development for retail, with a strong presence in the portuguese and british market. The softGaya primes by the high training of its employees in various areas of action and attention to detail in the proposal of new solutions and the development of specialized software applications, ensuring a service of excellence throughout all the value chain. The marketCard application was developed according to the Quality Manual (portuguese version) and Coding Standards and Rules (portuguese version) of softGaya. The marketCard is also a unique physical card assigned to a client of Hyper where is registered their identification, the card balance and all purchases made ​​and their amounts in the acceding supermarkets. The data collected is then processed by an algorithm of Business Intelligence (BI). The information is obtained by assigning weights to five relevant points to the manager, the product category, the gender of the customer, marital status, city of residence and area of activity of the profession. The software supports decision making by a top executive in sending promotions and the release of new products, including a subscription to a newsletter and defining levels of access to the functionalities of the application by the position held by a user in the company.

  • Check the balance of a customer;
  • Possibility of sending a newsletter to interested clients;
  • Allow a top executive to know the market through the choice of five editable parameters according to his preference and assigned points;
  • Assist a top executive in making decision to send promotions and new products;
  • Application access levels to different users.
