Quantum Euromillions
This small Javascript project provides a more 'scientific' approach to luck by acessing a REST API on the ANU Quantum Random Numbers Server of the Australian National University retrieving a JSON response and creating betting keys. I started this project and finished it during a saturday. I found that some people have trouble finding what numbers and stars to bet their precious money on, some use birthday dates, special days, their favourite numbers, etc. They spend some considerable time trying to beat luck in any way possible. No one can do that! In fact, these numbers are just as good as any other you bet, these are true random numbers based on the fluctuations of some quantum particles inside a box somewhere in Australia, you can find their API link here. Doing some math, the probabilities of wining with a single key of 5 numbers plus 2 stars is 1 in 116.531.800 millions but the probability of being hit by a meteor during your lifetime is about 1 in 1.600.000 million, have your own conclusions. :)
Although increasing your bets to 5 and playing multiples massively increases your odds, but also your spending! Anyway, I hope you enjoy it and find it useful and if lady luck smiles on you don't be shy to share! :)
